How to Play
From your first steal to your retirement verdict — everything Copero is judging, explained in five steps.
Create your player
Pick a name, one of 48 nationalities, a position from centre-back to striker, and a shirt number. Nationality decides where your career starts and which national team you'll fight to play for.
Steal from eight legends
Legends appear one by one. From each, take exactly one attribute into an empty slot: pace, shooting, passing, dribbling, defending, physicality, skill moves or weak foot. Eight legends, eight slots, no takebacks.
Mind your position
Your overall rating weighs attributes by position — shooting means everything to a striker and almost nothing to a centre-back. Steal what your position actually uses, not just the biggest number on the board.
Play the career
You start at a small club in your home country. Sim season by season: perform well and bigger clubs come calling in the transfer window. Stronger leagues are harder to dominate but worth far more to your legacy.
Chase the verdict
At retirement the game weighs your whole career — goals, titles, caps, continental cups, World Cups, Ballon d'Ors — and hands down a verdict from Journeyman to The Phenomenon. Then hit New Career and try a different build.
Copero draft strategy: the three rules
Rule one: fill your position's core stats early. A striker who reaches slot six without shooting is at the mercy of whoever appears next; a defender without defending is a lost cause. When a legend offers an elite value in a stat your position weights heavily, take it even if another number on the board is bigger.
Rule two: never waste a steal on a stat your position barely uses. The board will tempt you — a 96 dribbling when you're a centre-back is a trap. Copero only counts what your position weights, so vanity steals cost real career potential.
Rule three: in Copero's Classic mode, save the blind reroll for genuine disasters, and remember it's blind — the next legend can be worse. Most strong runs use the reroll never or exactly once, late, on a board that offers nothing for the last one or two open slots.
Career strategy: when to move
Copero rewards climbing. Staying in a weak league inflates your goal numbers but caps your reputation, your rating growth and your trophy chances — the Ballon d'Or effectively requires an elite league. As a rule of thumb: move up whenever a club from a clearly stronger league bids, especially before age 27 while your rating still grows fast.
The exception is the first two or three seasons. Jumping from your academy club straight to a giant before your rating catches up can bury you mid-table with modest stats. One or two dominant seasons at a mid league first is usually the faster route to the top.
